Pro Stock racer Brian Pursell has committed to making the long haul this season chasing the NDRC Pro Stock Championship, with the North Queenslander’s first stop being Sydney Dragway where he joins tough field of racers for PDRC Pro Stock opener on November 15 and 16.
Pursell last raced his GXP at the 2023 Winternationals, and with a lot going on for the team in the down time since, the 2019 Winternationals winner is chomping to get back after it on track.
“After a little over a year off, myself, and my team are excited to be back to be competing for the championship,” said Pursell.
“There is so much to get right to get the car down the track fast, the art of the clutch as well as getting the engine right is what I have missed about Pro Stock.”
With a new update to Pursell’s engine the team are heavily invested in stepping up their program to run with the heavy hitters this season.
“If I drive well with the new NxtGen/Tremaniac Racing power update I’ll be expecting a good result, there is a lot of good teams in the field so I will have to be on my game,” said Pursell.
The team are looking to complete a test session at the track prior to the event to squash any bugs with the new car setup and dust off the cobwebs for the driver.
Pursell’s upcoming season venture is thanks to Light Vehicle Solutions who have provided backing for the team for the upcoming season. Based out of Moranbah, Queensland, they supply mine site compliant rental vehicles, with stock also in NSW. Light Vehicle Solutions can provide a complete light vehicle service from vehicle specifications, supplying, maintaining and disposing of light vehicle fleets, to delivering vehicles to maintenance workshops for repair. They join Andergrove Store, Mackay, whom continue to back Pursell and his team as with previous seasons.
Pursell’s addition to the Pro Stock field for the PDRC opener at Sydney Dragway strengthens what is already a brutally tough field of Pro Stock machinery, win lights will be coming down to reaction times.
Not to be missed. The first round of PDRC Pro Stock season features alongside Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Alcohol, Pro Mod, Pro Import and the Grand Finale of the NSW Championship series.
